  20. When I installed a 28,800 modem in my Compaq Presario 992, I
  21. had to reconfigure the computer so it would recognize the change in
  22. hardware.  Reconfiguring means running the Computer Setup from the
  23. Configuration and Diagnostics menu and disabeling your old modem.
  24. You access the Configuration and Diagnostics menu by restarting your
  25. computer and pressing the F10 key  immediately (within 2 seconds)
  26. of hearing the two beeps and seeing the cursor appear in the upper
  27. right corner of your screen.  Detailed info on this procedure should
  28. be in your manual dealing with upgrading and reconfiguring your
  29. computer.
