- When I installed a 28,800 modem in my Compaq Presario 992, I
- had to reconfigure the computer so it would recognize the change in
- hardware. Reconfiguring means running the Computer Setup from the
- Configuration and Diagnostics menu and disabeling your old modem.
- You access the Configuration and Diagnostics menu by restarting your
- computer and pressing the F10 key immediately (within 2 seconds)
- of hearing the two beeps and seeing the cursor appear in the upper
- right corner of your screen. Detailed info on this procedure should
- be in your manual dealing with upgrading and reconfiguring your
- computer.
